Veneer, lacquer or upholstery: which finish for which project?

All three finishes have their place. The choice is driven less by aesthetics than by traffic and the character of the space.

The veneered panel is the first choice wherever the natural grain should be visible: dining sets, boutique hotels, design collections. When the grain runs with the curve of the panel, the eye follows it cleanly once the chair is assembled.

The lacquered panel stands out where colour freedom and a seamless surface matter. Because colour can be specified by RAL or NCS code, it is easy to match to a whole interior in hotel and contract furniture, and the multi-coat build reflects light as a single plane.

Upholstered and buttoned panels are chosen where seating comfort leads. Channels and button holes are formed during pressing, so the upholsterer works on a ready base and the pattern comes out identical on every chair.
