The panel is pressed together with the channels and button-hole positions the upholstery needs, so the upholsterer works on a ready base. Buttons land in template-drilled holes, which is why the pattern comes out identical on every chair. Available in bouclé, velvet, linen and faux leather; the front can be fabric while the back stays wood veneer or lacquer.
